A standard session (scrub + foam massage) takes 1 to 1.5 hours. VIP and premium packages with additional treatments take 2 to 2.5 hours.

Nothing. The hamam provides a pestemal (cotton wrap), towels, slippers and soap. Just bring yourself. Leave jewellery and valuables at your hotel or use the provided lockers.

Most guests wear just the pestemal provided. If you prefer more coverage, swimwear or undergarments are perfectly acceptable.

Yes. Historical hamams have separate sections or alternating hours for men and women. Modern spas typically offer private rooms and couple packages.

The kese (exfoliating scrub) is vigorous but should not be painful. It may feel slightly rough at first but quickly becomes relaxing. Tell your attendant if you want lighter or firmer pressure.

Generally yes. The traditional olive oil soap is gentle and natural. If you have very sensitive skin or a specific skin condition, let your attendant know before the session begins.

Most hamams in Istanbul operate from 08:00 to 22:00 daily. Some historical hamams may have shorter hours for one gender. Check the specific hamam’s page for exact hours.

Children are welcome at most hamams. Some historical baths have minimum age requirements for the hot room (usually 6–8 years). Check the venue's policy when booking.
